Instant-form leads never touch your website — no page, no click ID. Meta matches them by Lead ID instead: the highest-quality match key CAPI accepts, and the one that unlocks Conversion Leads optimization. One workflow passes it through.
⏱ About 3 minutes, once per accountIn the sub-account: Automation → Create Workflow → Start from scratch. Set the trigger to Facebook Lead Form Submitted.
Add the action Update Contact Field. Pick the field ps_meta_lead_id (created for you at install). Set its value to the merge field:
Find it in the merge-field picker under Contact → Facebook Lead Id, or paste the text above as-is. Publish the workflow.
Every lead-ad contact carries its Lead ID from the moment it lands. When your pipeline stages fire conversion events, they're matched by Lead ID first — stronger than any browser signal, and reported in the event log as lead_id.
This merge field only populates for leads arriving via the native Facebook/Instagram integration (Settings → Integrations). If a third-party tool creates your lead-ad contacts instead, map its lead id field — Zapier calls it ID, Make calls it Lead ID — into the same ps_meta_lead_id field in that tool.
